Livorno 7 December 2025 Don Bosco Basketball conquers Certaldo
The good moment of Don Bosco Basketball continues in the difficult Serie C championship; Di Manno’s team, in fact, after beating Sansepolcro last week, also reserves the same treatment for the freshman Virus Certaldo, thus strengthening their playoff position.
The rossoblu, on Florentine soil, hit the parquet with the right face and a lot of intensity, taking control of the score right from the start of the match, as demonstrated by the 31-20 in the first quarter.
Even the start of the second period seems to predict an easy victory for the Labronian rossoblu, who manage to accumulate up to 20 points of advantage. Instead, at the best moment, there was a vehement comeback from Virtus Certaldo who closed the gap in just a few minutes, going into halftime just one point down, at 46-47. Halfway through the match, the two rossoblu were already in double figures: Artioli (10) and Pacitto (11).
Upon returning from the locker rooms, the match remains in great balance throughout the third period, with Pallacanestro Don Bosco remaining ahead in the score, albeit with minimal advantages.
At the last break, Don Bosco had a five-point lead, at 69-64. In the final period, Artioli and his teammates took control of the inertia of the match and extended to accumulate a double-digit lead, which was then maintained until the final 90-79 which marked the second consecutive victory for the rossoblu boys.
At the end of the match, the satisfaction of coach Giuseppe Di Manno was evident as he commented on Certaldo’s coup on the parquet as follows: “We approached the match very well, immediately imposing our rhythm and controlling the match for the first 15 minutes, only to then suffer the return of Certaldo.
Between the two central quarters the hosts put us in great difficulty, but we did well to put the match back on track and regain a few points of advantage, thus reaching the final with the possibility of managing the match calmly.
For us it was a small test of maturity, which we passed with a bit of effort, at the end of a good test away from home. Now let’s move on to the next midweek round, which sees us competing against one of the best equipped teams in the group.”
The good performance of Pallacanestro Don Bosco is illustrated by the five men in double figures, with Lemmi at 18, Artioli at 16 and Pacitto at 15.
