“We know how great Flamengo is. They just won the Copa Libertadores, they are a great team. We had the opportunity to watch the match, but we are prepared”, highlighted the Mexican goalkeeper, adding that:
“We’re going to play the same way we’ve been playing in our championship, so we’re going to take to the field with a lot of desire and I’m sure we’ll have a good match,” said Gudino in an interview with FIFA.

In 2024, Botafogo arrived at the Intercontinental as favorites over Pachuca (MEX). However, the Mexicans prevailed and went to the final against Real Madrid (ESP), but lost.
