OLYMPICS – The “Olympic landslide” report, broadcast on Sunday on “Report”, has reignited the debate on the Apollonio cable car-Socrepes. In view of Milan Cortina 2026, raced against time to build and test the 34.9 million euro system by the end of January, made up of 3 stations, 10 pylons and 50 cabins capable of transporting 2,400 people per hour. The program summarized the various critical issues, from the direct assignment to the Brescia-based company Graffer («much smaller» than the sector giants and already involved in judicial investigations), to the supplies by the Turkish company Anadolu Teleferik (implicated in the Antalya tragedy), passing above all to the glaring fractures in the ground (subject of the residents’ appeals, rejected by the Lazio Regional Administrative Court and pending before the Council of State). “The construction site started about four months ago, but only on 3 December Simico announced: the authorization from Ansfisa has arrived”, remarked the broadcast, alluding to the green light from the National Security Agency, which is part of the Ministry of Infrastructure, after its own recent findings on the incompleteness of the documents.
So what does the awaited document say? Basically that the works can continue, but respecting 14 conditions, starting with the need to “evaluate the results of the landslide and avalanche compatibility opinion (…) when it is received, guaranteeing timely compliance with the requirements and mitigation provisions dictated by the Veneto Region”. In fact, on 4 December Palazzo Balbi announced that it had not yet released it, “as we are awaiting the executive project approved in its entirety”.
