During the cooking program at “What’s For Lunch with Chef Donnie”, CM Punk spoke while cooking Italian beef in his hometown, Chicago. When asked about the transition from professional wrestling to MMA, Punk stated:
“I mean, a big learning curve. It’s just something I wanted to do because I love MMA so much. You know what I mean? I was offered an opportunity and I said yes, you know, this is how I live my life. I wish I had started earlier…that’s the only thing. I started so late. I was already old. It was kind of a bucket list thing. Doesn’t mean I didn’t take it seriously. I hustled, I got in shape…I did what I could, but yeah, I started very late. I think I was 35 when I started in the UFC. I mean, it’s like starting in the NFL at 35.”
