CL Winner Retires: Former Barcelona Star Calls It Quits

Rafinha Alcantara (32) is ending his career as a professional footballer. The former Barca player announced this via Instagram.

Rafinha, Thiago Alacantara’s younger brother, has been without a club since July 2024. A little later, the Brazilian suffered a serious knee injury that ultimately prevented him from returning.

The central midfielder appeared 90 times for Barcelona and also played for, among others. Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. The greatest successes of his career include the CL title with Barca in 2015 and the victory at the 2016 Olympics.

On top of that, Rafinha won LaLiga three times, the Copa del Rey five times and Ligue 1 and the French Cup once each.
