Chiefs Playoff Loss: Mahomes Knee Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs said goodbye to the 2025 NFL season in week 15, while the Baltimore Ravens kept their playoff options alive and the Buffalo Bills triumphed at the New England Patriots’ Gillette Stadium.

Los Chiefs (6-8) –one of the dominators of the last decade in the NFL– They fell 13-16 to the Los Angeles Chargers (10-4) and sealed their elimination. It will be the first time since 2014 that they do not compete in the playoffs for the title.

It was an especially sad goodbye at Arrowhead Stadiumstill three weeks from the end of the regular phase, also marked by the knee injury of Patrick Mahomes, who had to retire to the locker room with help.

The Chiefs had the last possession to win or take the game to overtime, but a risky pass from Gardner Minshew –Mahomes substitute– was intercepted by Derwin James with 14 seconds left. The Chargers have a 90% chance of qualifying for the playoffs, according to the NFL.
