The London is Blue podcast was especially frustrated by Saturday’s result because they had flown across the Atlantic to be there to see Chelsea blow a home lead again.
As host Nick Verlaney said, it was a continuation of a very obvious trend that has been our problem all season: We don’t play 90-minute games.

Co-host Dan Dormer backed him up with a statistic that clearly demonstrates this:
“Two statistics to highlight would be that, one: Chelsea have dropped 11 points after leading in Premier League games at home this season, which is four more than any other team. And, two: Chelsea are as close to Leeds, who are 16th, as they are to Villa, who are 3rd, in terms of points. Which is diabolical.”
Nick then points out that Leeds, 16th, “just kicked our asses.”
Tomorrow night we face Bournemouth: it’s at home and they are on a terrible run. But can we honestly say we are confident? Not much. Time and time again, this team has proven to be unreliable even when in good shape.
You can watch their debate in the clip embedded here; this part comes after 10 minutes:
Axel Disasi remains part of Chelsea’s now greatly reduced bomb squad, and is one they would love to release in January. There is talk of interest from Leeds, but it remains to be seen if it comes to something.
Enzo Maresca spoke about Jorrel Hato in his press conference today. The reserve left-back must step up now that Marc Cucurella has injured his hamstring, but the Dutchman has also suffered a knock. It’s another frustrating moment of a frustrating first season for him at Chelsea.
