BADMINTON: Catanzaro Provincial Championships concluded




On 6 and 7 December 2025, the Provincial Badminton Championships of the province of Catanzaro were held in the multipurpose center in the Ferrarizzi area of ​​Sersale.

20 young athletes regularly registered and registered with the Asd Plays of Lamezia, the company organizing the event, participated in the championships. The results of the competition saw prevail; in the men’s singles, Giuseppe Scarpino of Asd Plays who defeated the field with a clear path, beating the good Manuel Iazzolino in the final while the young local Gigliotti Giuseppe placed 3rd.

In the doubles the Scarpino-Cuda pair prevailed over the Iazzolino-Gigliotti pair, creating a spectacular final.

In conjunction with the Provincial Championships, in the same structure, the boys of the Ic Bianco Sersale-Petrona’ played the phase of the institute Badminton championships led by the prof. Patrizia Salerno.
Many parents were also present at the event who greatly appreciated it, underlining, above all, the importance of sport and fun for the children who, despite the effort, demonstrated commitment and dedication to the discipline.
The staff of the organizing company was present with the president Domenico Saladino, as well as FIBa Federal Technician, the new Special Olympics Technician Rosa Raniere who for the occasion played the role of secretariat and scorekeeper.

The collaboration of the Csain Calabria Regional Committee with the President Amedeo Di Tillo who made trophies and medals available was important, as was that of the regional FIBa delegation with the President Adelino Liuzzi
The final awards ceremony saw the presence of the Mayor of the City of Sersale, Carmine Capellupo, who reiterated the importance of these events, and being no stranger to attending events, said he was immediately available as always to new sporting and non-sporting initiatives that Asd Plays will propose in the near future.
