Equatorial Guinea is increasingly establishing itself as a leader in African football. Qualified for the first time for the African Cup of Nations in 2012 in its capacity as host country with Gabon, the Nzalang Nacional selection reached the quarter-finals directly. Three years later, again at home, the Equatorial Guineans even made the semi-finals, achieving their best result.
During the last two editions, they shone again with a quarter-final and a round of 16, confirming their good progress. This CAN 2025 must bring one more stone to this building.

The player to watch: Luis Asué
The Chinese championship corresponds perfectly to Luis Asué. Arriving at Shanghai Shenhua on June 24 from Moreirense in Portugal, the striker has already played 19 matches with his new team, with seven goals and an assist to his name. Performances that the Nzalang Naciona selection hopes to see quickly, even if they are slow in coming. In 27 selections, Asué has only scored three small goals, including two during qualifying for this CAN 2025.l
