The national 3×3 men’s basketball team qualified for the semi-finals of the 2025 African Cup, with art and style, by crushing its Tunisian counterpart (21-11), this Sunday in Antananarivo (Madagascar), during the first quarter-final of the continental tournament.
For this North African derby, there was no photo. The National Three took control of the game from the first minutes of play, leading by 4 points to 0. Subsequently, the Tunisians regained momentum and the game became balanced.
However, success was much more on the Algerian side than on the Tunisian side. Chaining together two-point shots and ball recoveries, the Greens managed to regain a comfortable lead before putting an end to the proceedings, with more than two minutes remaining on the clock.
In the semi-final, Kamel Abdel Magid Ammour’s teammates will meet this afternoon (2:40 p.m.) the winner of the match between Madagascar, host country and defending champion, in Kenya.
Third in the last edition, Algeria reached the quarter-finals after getting the better of Seychelles (21-18) and DR Congo (21-08) during the group stage.
