And then she saw it…PHOTO: Matchroom Boxing
Coincidence, a prepared plan to increase interest? Anyway, it happened and the world saw it. Two boxers to weigh in, followed by a staredown ahead of this weekend’s action in England. Rival Molly McCann experienced a costume issue, specifically with her bra, while making eye contact with the former MMA fighter who also fought in the UFC. Ebonie Cotton grabbed the attention.
McCann moved from the world MMA organization UFC to boxing. And earlier this year under the guidance of Eddie Hearn from the Matchroom Boxing team. She made her debut in August and returns to the ring in Birmingham on Saturday night. She has a professional record of 1-0, as does her opponent.
The former MMA fighter will face another Briton, Cotton, who has a crossfit and dance background. McCann was a national ring champion in her youth before becoming a household name in the Octagon. She ended her MMA career last year and takes up boxing.
A look that made him laugh
Before every match, male and female boxers have a staredown. Some want to attract more, others less. Cotton opted for the version that she would see more. Both managed to weigh and came to each other. As they got closer, it was clear McCann could see there was “trouble”. She just laughed, she couldn’t do anything else. The same for her rival, but she didn’t feel embarrassed, these were her seconds.
Cotton really took care of her outfit at the weigh-in. Both faced each other face to face. McCann wore a sports bra and tracksuit set, sportswear, formal, while Cotton wanted to turn heads in orange underwear.
However, viewers ended up getting more than they bargained for as the Brit’s nipple began to protrude just above the edge of her bra. Cotton didn’t seem too concerned, laughing at the “unexpected” incident.
“I’m 100 percent myself and I wanted to express myself like that because I look good, I look great, and why wouldn’t I want to show myself,” she said afterwards in a short interview with IFL TV.
How will the match go? Will the opponent’s time come?
