Due to a lower body injury, 31-year-old Teodors Blügers participated in only two games this season in October, scoring one goal. The Latvian striker resumed participating in team training in November, however, he did so too early, aggravating the injury, which forced him to start the rehabilitation from the beginning.
“Hopefully after Christmas,” Canucks head coach Adam Foote said of Blüger’s return to the court. ”He practically had to start all over again after what happened [pēc treniņu atsākšanas ar komandu]. That move was strange – I don’t know if I’ve ever done something like that as a player. We saw it in the video recording. It happened and it doesn’t matter if it was a bad episode or not. It’s a pity, because we miss him,” continued the head coach of the Vancouverites.
With 25 points in 30 games, the Vancouver Canucks are 15th in the NHL’s Western Conference and eighth in the Pacific Division.
