Bayern & Frankfurt: UEFA Fines & Bans

Following the misconduct of Bayern and Eintracht fans, UEFA has now announced the penalties for the clubs. Both receive a harsh punishment.

The Ultras from Eintracht Frankfurt caused sometimes chaotic conditions in the Champions League game against FC Barcelona. In addition to numerous pyro-flares and cup throws, they shot flares from the guest block.

UEFA is now reacting to the incident and punishing the Hessians harshly. No visiting fans are allowed in the stadium for the next two away games in Europe. This means there will be no Eintracht fans in the stadium for the Champions League game against Qarabağ in Baku/Azerbaijan (January 21st).

New Camp Nou damaged

The people of Frankfurt also receive a hefty fine. Because of the pyrotechnic fireworks they have to pay 30,000 euros. In addition, there is another 8,000 euros because chaotics destroyed the new toilets in the Camp Nou and a Plexiglas wall in the guest block. The Eintracht bosses have to approach those responsible at Barcelona in the next 30 days and solve the problem in order to repair the damage.

In addition to Eintracht, FC Bayern Munich also received a severe penalty. The German record champions will have to do without some of their fans in the next Champions League home game against Union Saint-Gilloise (January 21st).

Blocks locked

Against Sporting Lisbon, the Bayern fans once again used large-scale pyrotechnics. At the beginning of the second half, almost 90 red and bright pyroflares were held up in the south curve.

Now UEFA has decided that blocks 111 to 114 will be closed for the next game. This means blocks in the lower tier directly behind the goal.

Planned action

According to “Bild”, the Ultras consciously decided to commit an offense. They knew that they were on probation and that the next incident would result in a fan ban. The fans have planned the action for a long time in order to receive the UEFA penalty now.

This means the Ultras miss the rather unglamorous home game against Union Saint-Gilloise and have no warnings for the important duels in the knockout phase. This means you can start from scratch.
