Bamberg & Hanover Finals – [Year] Results

Our Bundesliga teams will end the most successful year in the club’s history this Tuesday with away games in Bamberg and Hanover. The Wolves will be playing at the BMA365 Bamberg Baskets as part of the 13th matchday of the easyCredit BBL from 6:30 p.m. The Lions will be playing against TK Hannover Luchse on matchday 13 of the Toyota DBBL.

Both games will be broadcast live on Dyn or for free on Dyn’s YouTube channel. For the Wolves, the third away game in December – all three in the state of Bavaria – is of great importance in several respects:

1. They want to take revenge for being eliminated in the round of 16 of the BBL Cup. In mid-October, the defending champions lost to Bamberg in the new edition of the previous season’s final after a slump in the second half with a score of 78:105 (46:50). The Upper Franconians have now qualified for the TOP FOUR tournament. The Wolves also had to bow down 63:87 (29:50) in the first preparatory game in August. In addition, the all-time record is negative with only three wins in 18 away games for the former subscription champions, the last one dated December 11, 2022 (98:90).

2. With a sense of success in the last appearance of the 2025 calendar year, head coach Marco Ramondino’s men want to gain self-confidence for the upcoming stress test with two English weeks in a row. Just four days after the game in Bamberg, they will welcome newly promoted Science City Jena at home in the Weißenfels town hall for the second East derby on Saturday, January 3rd. On Tuesday, January 6th, they will play in the “Wolf’s Den” in the ENBL against the Dutch playoff semi-finalists Donar Groningen. Tickets for these two home games are available here. And on Saturday, January 10th, they will be playing at EWE Baskets Oldenburg.

3. The game in Bamberg will determine whether the Wolves establish themselves in one of the top six places in the table, which entitles them to participate directly in the playoffs, or fall back into the broad midfield. With 14:10 points they are currently in fifth place. Two teams with seven wins this season and four more with just one win less are lurking behind them, one of which is Bamberg in eighth place with 12:10 points.

For Spencer Reaves (photo above) there will be a reunion with his former place of work (season 2022/23), John Bryant could play his 500th Bundesliga game this Friday.

Detailed previews of both games follow.
