For the District league B team the Emmerich Eintracht things continue to go really well. The newcomer is currently in third place in Group 1. “Going into the winter break with 30 points is great, we no longer need to worry about staying in the league,” says Eintracht coach Fabian Beyerlein, given the team’s strong performance in the 15 games so far.
Kotkov scores winning goal against Stenern
In the last game of the year there was already the tenth win of the season, the second representation of TuS Stenern was defeated 2:1 (1:0). The team’s two veterans scored the goals, both with their heads. Dennis Zimmermann scored the 1-0 (8th) after a free kick from Finn Linders, the celebrated final goal was scored by Hennadii Kotkov after a corner from Serhii Siedakov in stoppage time (90th + 3).
“The team continues to develop really well, is also making tactical progress and is accepting the fight,” praises Beyerlein. “We have also become more stable defensively.” Nevertheless, there is plenty of room for improvement. “We are not yet creative enough in the front third, we have to create more chances,” says Beyerlein, who has formed a well-harmonised duo with his coaching colleague Frank Schramm at Borgheeser Weg since the summer.
It’s not the attitude, but in terms of football it hasn’t been enough so far.
Klaus Wolbring, coach of the Eintracht women
The current season, however, is completely different for them Soccer women the unity that exists in the District league occupy the penultimate place in the table with just seven points. After a 5-2 win in the first game of the season at FC Olympia Bocholt, there were no more threesomes. “It was a completely messed up first half of the season that we are anything but happy with,” says coach Klaus Wolbring. “It’s not the attitude, but in terms of football it hasn’t been enough so far.”
You can tell that the team is unsettled, says Wolbring, who has to do without important players again and again. “Some have become students or mothers and are therefore not available regularly. We were also unlucky with injuries,” the coach has to rebuild the team in every game.
1-1 draw against Olympia Bocholt
Recently there have been at least a few positive signs of a turnaround. In the last game of the year, which was also the first of the second half of the season, Eintracht drew 1-1 against Olympia Bocholt. Verena Wonsikowski scored the goal against the third-place team. Two days earlier there had been a 1:5 defeat at leaders VfR Warbeyen II. “We defended ourselves well,” Wolbring said, agreeing with his team’s performance despite the ultimately clear defeat.
“We will of course try to get the points we need to stay in the league in the second half of the season, the potential is certainly there,” says Wolbring. “The basis will be that we have to earn the missing luck again.”
Christmas party on Saturday
Even though there is currently no success, the mood in the team is still good, says Wolbring, who is now looking forward to the Christmas party on Saturday. “Over 100 people have registered. This shows that overall things are right at the moment and that there is great cohesion in the club.”
The Emmericher Eintracht badminton team also ended the year and can be satisfied with their performance in the first half of the season. With 7:7 points, the team is in fifth place in the district league.
Emmerich badminton team wins at the bottom
The Eintracht team returned from their last game at bottom team DSC Kaiserberg 4 with an important 5-3 win. After an unsuccessful start, Heinz-Gerd Diks and Leo Bednarz in the 1st men’s doubles and Patrick Modrow and Stoyan Vlaykov in the 2nd men’s doubles each lost in two sets, things then went better. Katharina Modrow and Anna Wankum won the women’s doubles. Jörn Schütze and Stoyan Vlaykov took the 3-2 lead in the men’s singles, with Vlaykov making it extremely exciting and winning the third set 22:20. Patrick Modrow narrowly had to admit defeat in three sets.
Katharina Modrow was once again a safe bet in the women’s singles. In the mixed doubles, Anna Wankum and Jörn Schütze showed strong nerves. They held their own in a hard-fought game with 21:10, 15:21 and 21:19 and secured the 5:3 team success.
