With the expulsions of Hernandez against Tottenham, Zabarnyi against Bayer Leverkusen and Luis Diaz against Bayern Munich, PSG’s last European outings were eventful for the referees. Against Athletic Bilbao, Daniel Siebert will have to play his match on Wednesday evening in the Champions League.
The German referee was appointed by UEFA to be on the whistle for the 6th C1 meeting of Luis Enrique’s players. The Berliner will be assisted by his compatriots Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn on the keys. Daniel Schlager (ALL) will take on the role of 4th referee, while Benjamin Brand (ALL) and Andrew Dallas (ECO) will officiate on video assistance.
Aged 41, Daniel Siebert is usually on the whistle in the German championship. He has already refereed six Bundesliga matches since the start of the season, receiving 16 yellow cards and 1 red card.
He has also managed PSG matches three times in the past. The last dates back to September 2024 with the first match of PSG’s victorious campaign, against Girona at the Parc des Princes (1-0 victory). He also refereed during the success of the Parisians on the pitch of Maccabi Haifa (1-3) in Israel in the group stage on September 14, 2022. But also during the large victory against Bruges (0-5) on October 22, 2019.
