Arrascaeta: Ballon d’Or Win & Brasileirão Club Revealed

The Brazilian Championship ends with a democratic selection in the ESPN Silver Ball Award. In total, five teams placed players in the competition’s ideal team: Flemish, Cruise, Palm trees, Mirassol e Vasco.

Cruzeiro managed to defeat champion Flamengo and ended up with more players in the team. There are four representatives from the Minas Gerais team (Fabrício Bruno, Lucas Romero, Matheus Pereira and Kaio Jorge) against three from Rio (Léo Pereira, Arrascaeta and Pedro).

Flamengo, however, had the best player in the Brasileirão. Arrascaeta crowned his fantastic competition by winning the Ballon d’Or.

The Uruguayan is now the most awarded foreigner in history (seven trophies). And he is only behind Zico and Rogério Ceni (nine awards each) on the general list.

The 2025 Bola de Prata also had a historic award for the Series B. Portuguese midfielder Josué, from Coritibawon the trophy for best player in the competition.
