Unai Emery’s Aston Villa beat West Ham 3-2 and added their ninth consecutive victory in all competitionsa result that keeps them in third place in the Premier League, just three points behind leader Arsenal.
The game started in the worst way for the ‘villains’, who conceded a goal after 31 seconds after a serious error by Ezri Konsa, taken advantage of by Mateus Fernandes. However, Villa reacted quickly and tied in the 9th minute thanks to an own goal from Konstantinos Mavropanos after a cross from Crysencio Summerville.
Before the break, West Ham took the lead again when Jarrod Bowen deflected a shot from Freddie Potts. Already in the second half, Emery’s team took control of the game and found the tie with a shot from Morgan Rogers after an assist from Youri Tielemans.
Rogers sealed the comeback with a powerful shot from outside the area that slipped into the corner, confirming the great moment for Aston Villa, who dreams of the title. In contrast, West Ham remains in the relegation zone with 13 points and has gone without a win for more than a month.
