On 21 December in the Palaunipromos sports facility in Cinquefrondi, organized by the local archery sports club, the last sporting event of the year took place which saw archers from four regions taking part in the event as well as local Calabrian athletes.
The Catanzaro company Arcieri Club lido participates in the sporting event with nine athletes, who all achieved excellent placings at the end of the competition. In the Olympic team, the gold goes to Poerio Pierà Francesco in the Junior class, followed by Sgotto Sofia and Poerio Pierà Edoardo respectively in the student and Senior class. Another Gold for Poerio Pierà Anastasia in the Junior compound and Fabio Ludovica in the Girls Class. Silver for Demasi Pasquale in the Senior Olympics and Bronze for Demasi Maria in the Senior Compound. The team composed of Poerio Pierà Edoardo, Demasi Pasquale and Sgatto Maurizio finished in third place in the senior class Olympic division. Another golden podium for Poerio Pierà Alessandro in the Giovanissimi naked bow.
With the Cinquefrondi race, comments Mister Poerio Pierà Edoardo, the year 2025 ends, which has given us countless satisfactions, both locally and nationally. This race, adds the coach, also marks the last participation with our colors of Francesco Poerio Pierà, who for sporting opportunities has decided to accept the proposal to compete next year with CAM Arcieri Monica, a Lombard company of excellent technical and organizational qualities. We want to extend our thanks to Francesco, both as an archer and sportsman and as a person. With his results and his commitment he has brought our colors high on the national and international scene, our wish is to continue to do well for the new Team, which will certainly provide new stimuli and motivation, with the hope that it can also compete with the colors of Lombardy in national events.
We would also like to close the year with thanks to those who have always supported us this season: Gillo Gold Medal and Vittorio Frangilli for Francesco’s materials, Tech4green by Salvo Scuto and all the others who believed in us.
The new season will open with two memorials that will be held in Taverna, the first on January 11th in honor of Giuseppe Pascuzzi, the sportsman par excellence, who in his activity as municipal councilor and delegate for sport considered all local sports on the same level of importance, and the second on January 18th to remember two angels who left us last year, Mattia Scumaci and Giorgia Grande. Our tribute to two kids who will always remain present in the memories and life of our community.
