Aminata Diallo: PSG Teammate Faces Trial – Libération

Busy day for PSG on the legal front. The same day the club was condemned by the industrial tribunal to pay nearly 61 million euros to its former star Kylian Mbappé, the Versailles prosecutor’s office requested a trial against the club’s former striker Aminata Diallo, AFP learned on Tuesday November 16, confirming information from the Team.

The international is suspected of having ordered the attack on her former teammate, midfielder Kheira Hamraoui, in 2021, against a backdrop of sporting rivalry. The prosecution requested that Aminata Diallo, who is currently playing in Saudi Arabia, be tried for complicity in aggravated willful violence – in particular by giving instructions to commit the attack – and participation in a group with a view to preparing one or more crimes.

The facts are as follows: while returning from a team dinner in Aminata Diallo’s car, Kheira Hamraoui, selected 42 times for the French team, was attacked by two men in Chatou (Yvelines). They beat her with iron bars, particularly on the legs, all under the gaze of Aminata Diallo, surrounded by the attackers. Kheira Hamraoui’s injuries will require stitches and will prevent him from playing in the Champions League match between PSG and Real Madrid on November 9, 2021.

After the attack on the midfielder, a judicial investigation was opened for criminal conspiracy and aggravated violence. Four men were arrested and ended up, in September 2022, accusing Aminata Diallo. The player will be placed in pre-trial detention then released under judicial supervision. The investigation was then expanded into organized gang fraud due to suspicions of actions in Aminata Diallo’s entourage, an offense for which the prosecution requested a dismissal of the case.

Aminata Diallo “appears as the direct beneficiary of the physical aggression of her teammate”, detailed the Versailles prosecutor’s office this Tuesday, December 16, describing the former PSG midfielder as “sponsor” of aggression. A trial before the criminal court is also required against six other people, including César Mavacala, sports advisor to several Parisian players and close to Aminata Diallo. “These requisitions are a smokescreen,” reacted to AFP Romain Ruiz, Mourad Battikh and Chloé Redon, who defend the accused player. “Aminata Diallo did not commit these acts and we will demonstrate it, whatever the artifices of the accusation,” they add.

Concerning César Mavacala, suspected of having exerted pressure on PSG to obtain on the one hand the signature or the extension of players he represented, including Diallo, but also the ousting of Hamraoui from the group, the prosecution requested his dismissal for exercising the activity of sports agent without a license, but not for extortion by an organized gang, facts for which he requested a dismissal of the case.

This affair indirectly meant that PSG, on the same day, had to wait for the decision of the Paris industrial tribunal, seized by Kheira Hamraoui who criticized the club for having “sidelining” after her convalescence, thus leading to her departure in 2023. But the player, who claimed 3.5 million euros in compensation for the moral harassment she said she had suffered, was rejected by the court. In response, PSG declared “take note” of this decision, “which confirms that the club has acted in compliance with the law and its contractual obligations throughout the employment relationship”. In the evening, the player announced that she would appeal this judgment.
