I rugby sevens qualifying criteria for Los Angeles 2028 have been approved by International Olympic Committee (IOC): il qualification period it will unfold between 2027 (for the first ten quotas) and 2028 (for the last pass available).
Is both masculine and feminine will be available 144 Olympic cards, for 12 teams made up of 12 players each: the United States, as the host country of the Olympics, will have guaranteed place among both men and women.
Four teams will qualify at World Championship Series 2027which will consist of three tournaments that will be played between month of April and 6 June: in case the USA were among the top four classified, then too the fifth will have access to the Olympics.
Others six seats will be guaranteed through i 6 Olympic qualifying tournaments which will be organized at the level continental In the 2027between June 7 and December 31, i.e. after the conclusion of the 2027 World Championship Series. At this point there will be 11 (including the pass for the host country) the Olympic cards distributed.
L’last pass will instead be assigned in final Olympic repechage tournament, in which 8 countries will take part, of which at least 1 from each continent, which will be held between 1 January and June 2028, i.e. after the conclusion of the Olympic qualification tournaments at continental level.
