1860 Munich: Biggest Disadvantage in Football?

In the third division table, TSV 1860 reduced the gap to the relegation place to four points by winning 3-1 over bottom team Schweinfurt. In the ranking of disadvantages, however, the Lions further extended their lead – the reason: the missed penalty against the Schnüdel when the score was 0-0, when ex-Lion Thomas Meißner blocked the ball with his hand in the penalty area after a Volland shot.

For Babak Rafati, the former FIFA referee, the matter was clear in his column at liga3-önline.de: “In this action, Meißner’s arm is far away from his body and is therefore spread apart, so that there is a punishable handball. So there should have been a penalty. A wrong decision not to give it.”

There are now 13 cases in the table of disadvantages at 1860 Munich – more than at any other third division club. Verl (10) and Saarbrücken (7) are in second and third place.

db24 says: Almost no game in the third league goes by without an important scene being decided incorrectly by the referee. The league finally needs the mini-VAR – it’s too much money.
