A hard blow for Lyon before hosting Paris? Lyon midfielder and captain Corentin Tolisso is doubtful for the OL-Paris SG match on Sunday at Groupama Stadium for the 12th day of Ligue 1, Lyon coach, Portuguese Paulo Fonseca, announced on Saturday.
Already out of the Rhone club’s trip to Bétis Sevilla (2-0 defeat) on Thursday in the Europa League, Tolisso suffers from an injury to the back of his thigh. He trained adequately on Saturday morning and could be in the selected group but with no guarantee of appearing on the match sheet, of playing and even less of starting.
A muscle problem since last weekend
“Corentin trained in a tactical, non-intensive session. We will see if he can play but I have doubts. It’s very risky to play him. I don’t want to lose him for the following matches. He has had a muscle problem since the Brest match. He was spared in the last match in Seville and he is not 100%,” Fonseca agreed at a press conference.
Tolisso was injured in the 84th minute of the Brest-Lyon match (0-0) on November 2, after a save in front of the OL goal. Attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc, top scorer for the Lyon team, is out, also with a thigh injury.
