Remco Evenepoel will be a Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe rider from January 1, 2026. But actually he already is to some extent, given that his last race for Soudal Quick-Step is behind him. Moreover, the first agreements with the German formation are also a thing of the past.

Starting from scratch
For example, Evenepoel moved to the United States a while ago, where all kinds of agreements were on the menu with Specialized, the bicycle manufacturer of Red Bull-Bora. Since the information from Quick-Step was not passed on, Evenepoel had to go through all the tests again, including in the wind tunnel. But not that this was a problem, on the contrary.
“I don’t think a rider has been with us so often,” says Leo Menville of Specialized in La Dernière Heure. “Remco is one of our ambassadors, but our relationship goes further. We are very close,” it immediately sounds positive about Evenepoel.
Evenepoel makes an impression
And they will also have immediately attracted big eyes at Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe. After all, he immediately showed himself to be hyper-professional: “Remco’s days were well filled, but he often wanted to do even more,” says Menville. “His commitment and eye for detail, it is impressive. Especially since he is already a three-time world champion in time trial, and he has won most time trials by a comfortable margin.”
It is precisely that attitude that characterizes a great winner. “Then you might think that you are at a lonely height and can slow down a bit, but with Remco this is quite the opposite,” says Menville. “He is as precise as an F1 driver.”
Evenepoel showed himself to be thoroughly professional, but more importantly: Evenepoel immediately made a great impression. It’s already a promising start for what’s to come. Evenepoel is expected to take the next step in the German top formation, especially in the grand tours.
