Red Bull Bragantino beat São Paulo 1-0, in a game valid for the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship, on Saturday night (8). At Vila Belmiro, the only goal of the match was scored by Jhon Jhon.
After an eventful first half, the goal only came in the 29th minute of the second half. Lucas Barbosa suffered a penalty from Enzo Díaz and, from the kick, Massa Bruta’s number 10 scored the winning goal.
With the result, Red Bull Bragantino rose to 11th place, with 42 points and begins to aim for the G7. São Paulo parked in 8th place, with 45 points, and lost the chance to get closer to Fluminense, 7th place, with 50.
The game
Even playing as a visitor, it was Red Bull Bragantino who created the first opportunities of the match. Sant’anna took advantage of the defense’s return and hit from outside the area, scaring goalkeeper Rafael, and shortly after Gustavinho had a dangerous shot blocked by Arboleda.
After the scares, São Paulo improved in the game and also created. Ferreira almost made it to the Olympics, but Cleiton saved it, then it was Luciano’s turn to unleash a left-footed bomb and, finally, Lucas Moura hit hard from the edge of the area to scare the Massa Bruta goalkeeper.
Pressing on the attack, São Paulo still arrived with Ferreira and Bobadilla, but goalkeeper Cleiton made two good saves to save Red Bull Bragantino in the first stage.

Everything changed in the 27th minute. Jhon Jhon crossed into the area, Lucas Barbosa was brought down by Enzo Díaz and the referee awarded a penalty. In the charge, Red Bull Bragantino’s number 10 charged with class and opened the scoring for the team from the interior.
São Paulo then launched an attack in search of a draw. The main opportunity came from the feet of Luciano, who hit hard from outside the area and saw the ball scrape Cleiton’s post.
Despite this, Hernán Crespo’s team continued to struggle to reach the opponent’s goal and left Vila Belmiro defeated 1-0 by Vagner Mancini’s Red Bull Bragantino.
