Local leaders and sports organizers formally introduced the upcoming competition during a press session at the Campillos Town Hall plenary hall. Miguel Cortés, the local sports councillor, described hosting the regional tournament as a matter of pride for the community. Cortés emphasized that welcoming top-tier competitors from across the region offers a valuable platform to elevate the municipality’s profile as a recognized hub for athletic events.
Juan Miguel Gómez, secretary of the CD Arqueros de Campillos, detailed the extensive coordination required to secure the event. Gómez noted that this marks the first time Campillos has hosted a regional archery competition of this magnitude. Organizers initially anticipated an entry list of 34 teams, but overwhelming demand prompted discussions with the regional federation to expand the tournament parameters.
Expanded Format and Facility Homologation
Following high demand from clubs across the region, organizers redesigned the competition format to accommodate roughly 20 additional teams. The updated roster brings total participation to about 200 athletes competing across multiple disciplines, including recurve, compound, and traditional archery.
The event also highlights recent infrastructure upgrades at the venue. According to CD Arqueros de Campillos representatives, the municipal shooting range has officially earned homologation from the regional federation. Federation technicians confirmed that the upgraded facility now ranks among the finest approved shooting grounds in Andalusia, opening the door for the municipality to host future large-scale archery tournaments.

Admission to the Campeonato de Andalucía de Equipos de Clubes 2026 will be completely free for spectators wishing to attend the September 6 competition. In addition to open public access, the host club will operate a refreshment service on-site throughout the duration of the tournament.
