Lyon’s cold anger affected everyone on Sunday evening. From the players to the staff to the management, each member of the OL institution was after the refereeing at the end of the match lost against Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of the 12th day of Ligue 1 (2-3). The wrath of the Rhône has even crossed French borders, reaching Saudi Arabia.
Indeed, Alexandre Lacazette, the former star striker of Olympique Lyonnais (2010-2017 then 2022-2025), who has been playing since this summer in the Persian Gulf, in Neom, has had little taste of Benoît Bastien’s decisions.
Bravo @OL
Not easy at 11 vs 12

He made it known via a message published on his X account during the night from Sunday to Monday: “Bravo OL. Not easy at 11 vs 12,” commented the French international, accompanying his post with two red and blue hearts, the Lyon colors.
“We pay very dearly for the arbitration level”
Perfectly handling irony, the second top scorer in OL history (201 goals) placed himself on the same line as most of his ex-teammates, starting with his friend Corentin Tolisso. The 31-year-old midfielder, replacing at kick-off, also drew against the referees in the mixed zone on Sunday evening.
“We have to do better in refereeing in general because there are mistakes every weekend,” he lamented. “We don’t understand everything that’s going on, there needs to be more dialogue. Things are explained to us at the beginning of the year but that is not what is applied. This season, we are paying very dearly for the refereeing level,” said Tolisso before sharing it on Instagram, in the story.
“We are not the only ones paying dearly for it. It’s the same thing every weekend on Ligue 1 pitches. It might be time to do something! It’s not just the players who must be at the level,” recalled the Lyon captain.
For his part, Nicolás Tagliafico simply reposted the message from a Les Gones supporter on
As a reminder, Jorge Maciel, the assistant coach, and Matthieu Louis-Jean, the sporting director, were furious with several decisions taken by Benoît Bastien on Sunday evening, notably calling for a forgotten penalty following a foul by Kang-in Lee on Tagliafico and even speaking of a “scandal” on the second Parisian goal, tainted by a possible foul by Vitinha when recovering the ball.
