Le Normand Alex Lanier a relevé la tête cette semaine du côté de l’Allemagne, une semaine après sa sortie prématurée lors du premier tour des Internationaux de France.
Le numéro 8 mondial a en effet réussi à se hisser jusqu’en demi-finale de l’Hylo Open de badminton (Super 500) ce samedi 1er novembre 2025. Face à l’Indonésien Jonatan Christie, 5e mondial, le Calvadosien avait plutôt bien entamé sa partie. Après avoir remporté le premier set 21-18, il a rapidement pris les devants dans le deuxième. Lanier a mené 11-4 avant de se faire reprendre et de finalement s’incliner 21-19. Puis, il n’a pas franchement existé dans la manche décisive (21-9).
Comme il y a quinze jours, lors de l’Open du Danemark (Super 750), le Français s’est donc incliné aux portes de la finale. Et, comme il y a quinze jours, son bourreau se nomme Jonatan Christie.
