Fulda Judo Stars Shine: Teuber and Muck Earn Medals, U18 Girls Secure German Championship Berth
The mats were alive with intense competition as young judokas from Fulda showcased their skills, bringing home extraordinary hardware and securing a coveted spot in a national championship. The day’s triumphs were highlighted by standout performances from Timo Teuber and Ferdinand Muck, while the U18 girls’ team achieved a notable milestone.
Timo Teuber, competing in the U15 boys’ division, delivered a dominant performance, clinching a silver medal with two decisive wins. His success marks a strong showing in the North 2025 district fights, setting a high bar for the upcoming season. Ferdinand Muck, in his second-ever tournament, demonstrated remarkable talent by capturing a bronze medal in the U12 category, also with one victory. These young athletes are clearly on a trajectory for continued success, fueled by a palpable motivation as they dive into training for the 2026 competition season.
Supervisors Bastian Michel and Eric Schlaudraff expressed their pride in the athletes’ efforts, stating, We are incredibly satisfied with the performances shown by all our competitors today.

U18 Team Battles for National Glory in Speyer
Simultaneously occurring, in Speyer, the Southwest German Team Championships served as a crucial qualifier for the German U18 Team championships.The Fulda team, bolstered by Tristan Schiemann from JC Bushido Vellmar, faced a challenging field. Having competed in the U15 age group last year, this U18 debut was a significant step up.
The Fulda squad encountered an immediate hurdle with an unoccupied weight class (-50 kilograms), forcing them to start each encounter at a disadvantage. This meant they were frequently enough facing an uphill battle from the outset. Competing against five teams from the Hesse,rhineland,saarland,and Palatinate regions,the team managed to secure a few hard-fought victories.
Coach Thiel reflected on the experience, noting, Some of the fights were very close, and you could tell that the boys still lack experience in the U18 age group.
Despite the challenges, Thiel sees immense potential in his squad, emphasizing, Everyone can compete again next year.
The team secured a 4-2 victory against JC Ingelheim but ultimately finished in 5th place, narrowly missing direct qualification for the German U18 Team Championships. However, a new possibility arises: the Fulda team, along with the seventh-place finishers, has earned a spot in the inaugural German Club Team Cup U18, a testament to their resilience and fighting spirit.
The dedicated athletes who represented the Fulda team in Speyer were Ivan Fedorenko, Ben Hartmann, Max Schlaudraff, maximilian Michel, Antoni regula, Michal Szymanski, and Tristan Schiemann.
Michelle Müller and Homburg Team Qualify for German Championships
Adding to the club’s success, Michelle Müller, representing the 1st Fulda Judo Club and currently competing for the Homburg gymnastics community through a cooperative agreement, achieved a significant goal. Her U18 girls’ team secured a silver medal, successfully qualifying for the German Team Championship.
