Climate Week: Events & Action

Councilor Bea Schouten will give the official starting signal for Climate Week on Monday. Together with climate mayor Caren Schipperus, she will raise the climate flag at 9 a.m.

Of Climate week lasts from Monday 10 to Sunday 16 November. During those days there are all kinds of activities, organized by the municipality of Wijchen, to inspire people to work together for a better climate.

Councilor Bea Schouten: “We are already doing a lot for the climate in our municipality. We are creating more greenery, working on energy generation and advice is available to everyone through energy coaches. We hope that people will participate. Not only during Climate Week, but all year round.”

The municipality, together with climate mayor Schipperus and Energiecoörperatie Leur, has put together a program in which residents and entrepreneurs can participate for free.

Energy café: solar panels and netting, what about that?
ECL provides an energy café about the end of the netting scheme and the associated feed-in costs.

Energy coaches and games for children
The energy coaches are ready to help you save energy. There are energy games for children.

Resilient Wijchen and information market
SurvivalKit Academy provides interactive training on emergency situations. There is also an information market about energy saving.
