  • John Terry predicts that the race for the Premier League championship will be between Arsenal who are in the lead and Chelsea.
  • Arsenal are six points ahead after beating Tottenham, while Liverpool and Man City were knocked out.
  • Terry views the Chelsea versus Arsenal meeting at Stamford Bridge next weekend as a test to determine the champion.

Suara.com – Chelsea legend, John Terry, believes that the fight for the Premier League title this season will come down to just two clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea.

He conveyed this firm opinion after seeing the inconsistent performance of other competitors, including Manchester City and Liverpool.

Arsenal now leads the standings with a six-point advantage after beating Tottenham 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has surprisingly emerged as the closest competitor with stable performance under coach Enzo Maresca.

Two champion candidates from previous seasons actually experienced setbacks.

Liverpool suffered a crushing 0-3 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield, a result which also worsened Arne Slot’s record of losing six of the last seven Premier League matches.

Manchester City is no better. Pep Guardiola’s troops had to go home empty-handed after falling 1-2 to Newcastle, leaving them seven points adrift of Arsenal.

Chelsea returned to winning ways after beating Burnley 2-0.

The additional three points marked three consecutive wins as well as three consecutive clean sheets for the Blues.

Seeing this situation, Terry assessed that only his old team had the potential to disrupt Arsenal’s progress.

“I’m not saying this determines the title, but I think the league champion will come from one of these two teams,” said Terry as quoted by Metro

“Liverpool are 100 percent out of contention. They are really struggling.”

Terry believes that the Chelsea vs Arsenal match at Stamford Bridge next weekend will be the biggest test and an illustration of who is truly ready to compete for the title.

However, Terry’s opinion is not fully supported by all observers.

Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville, believes that Chelsea is still too unstable to be a champion candidate.
