Belichick: No NFL Return, Eyes Content Writing

University of North Carolina football head coach Bill Belichick said Friday he will not attempt a return to the NFL.

Belichick made a statement on the matter on Instagram as his name surfaced following the firing of Brian Daboll by the New York Giants last Monday.

“Despite rumors circulating, I have not applied and will not apply for any vacant head coaching position in the NFL,” it read.

Belichick, 73, is in his first season with North Carolina, which has a 4-5 record.

Before joining the college circuit, Belichick spent his entire head coaching career in the NFL, winning six Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots. He is third in NFL history with 302 wins.

He also won the Super Bowl twice as defensive coordinator of the Giants in 1986 and in 1990 as assistant to Bill Parcells.

“I have deep respect and affection for the New York Giants organization and the Mara and Tisch families,” Belichick said in his statement. The New York Giants have played a huge role in my life and coaching journey. It has been my privilege to work for the Mara family and be a part of Coach Parcells’ staff for over a decade. »

He took advantage of the situation to reiterate his commitment to the Tar Heels.

“I remain fully focused on the continued improvement of this team, the development of our players and building a program that makes Tar Heels fans proud,” Belichick said.
