Badminton in Gard: Lotois Club News

Young badminton players from the Badminton Lot selection were traveling this weekend (from November 14 to 16) to Manduel in the Gard. The five young players from Lot, Timéo and Anna Boumbaly, Laura Prévost and Eden Poteau from Pradines Badminton, and Maëlia Bruneau from Athlé 46 Souillac Badminton, and their coach Baptiste Dajean, left the grounds of Lot on Friday 5 p.m. in order to have a good night’s sleep there and to be ready for the start of the competition in Manduel, from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon.

This tournament of the regional circuit of Occitanie is the final stage before the regional championship and its list of qualifiers.

A new regional medal for Anna

Anna Boumbaly (minime) reached the final of her series in women’s singles and thus ensured her qualification for the regional final in Marvejols (Lozère) in February. Laura Prévost (youngest), for her part, reached the semi-final of her women’s singles series.

Eden Poteau and Laura did not do poorly in the junior mixed doubles, producing a good level of play during their first match, but unfortunately lost in overtime.

Timéo Boumbaly (poussin), for whom it was his first regional tournament, finished in the top 5. Also bodes well for the regional finals.

Maëlia Bruneau was entered in the cadet mixed doubles with a partner from Tarn. Unfortunately she doesn’t come out of the pool.

The final list of qualifiers for the regional championship is impatiently awaited, hoping to find our young Lotois there.

We will meet all these players and more than a hundred participants in Vigan on December 7 to participate in stage no. 2 of the 46 youth circuit.

Registrations are open with club coaches.
