Anthony Black’s 31 Points Lead Magic to Victory Over 76ers

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Anthony Black scored a career-high 27 of his 31 points in the first half, and the Orlando Magic routed the injury-depleted Philadelphia 76ers 144-103 in an NBA Cup game on Tuesday.

Franz Wagner added 21 points for Orlando, which lost Jalen Suggs to an ejection with 27 seconds left in the first half after committing two technical fouls during an altercation between the teams.

Tyrese Maxey scored 20 points to lead the 76ers, whose absences included Joel Embiid (right knee injury management), Paul George (right ankle sprain) and rookie VJ Edgecombe (left calf strain).

Orlando improved to 3-0 in the Cup and the 76ers fell to 0-3.

The game was tied at 35 after the first quarter before the Magic took control in the second period. Philadelphia fans began booing on the court when Orlando went ahead by 17 points with five and a half minutes remaining.

Frustration boiled over on the court 27 seconds before halftime when the start of a fight led to Suggs’ ejection.
