Van der Vaart Praises Eredivisie Coach’s Development

“I think he is developing very well,” Van der Vaart starts opposite RTV Rijnmond About his former teammate with the Dutch national team. “It’s nice that no one at Feyenoord doubts about it. He is just in charge and you see that, so far, he makes good decisions. You see a stable team. Then you have to be a good trainer.”

Feyenoord is doing well this season in the Eredivisie. After seven rounds, the Rotterdammers are still unbeaten, making the leading position a fact. Van der Vaart sees a danger for the inexperienced trainer. He points to another former teammate of his, who is under high pressure at Ajax: John Heitinga.

“Van Persie is doing very well, but if things are not going to be right, there will also be annoying questions. How do you respond?” Van der Vaart wonders aloud. Feyenoord has already fallen twice in the Europa League against SC Braga (1-0) and Aston Villa (0-2) respectively. This weekend FC Utrecht is the opponent.
