USV Hercules: Wind & Unlucky Defeat in Heemskerk

Hercules lost the match against ADO’20 1-0. The stormy wind made football impossible for both sides. Hercules had the wind at their backs in the first half and had a few scoring opportunities. Jay Zouteriks hit the post and Sel Bastmeijer’s effort just missed the target. ADO’20, with the wind against them, did not get further than a single corner and did not fire a single shot at Hercules keeper, Pepijn Vonk. Half time 0-0.

A similar game pattern in the second half, but the other way around, now ADO’20 was more on the attack and was lucky in the 66th minute when it was able to score a goal. Hercules launched a final offensive, but with the full storm against him, no decent attack could be mounted.

In fact, in such weather conditions where wind force 6-7 blows over the field, the match should not take place, now the home team was the happiest, but there was no question of normal football. Such a match is quickly forgotten.

Next week is a free weekend and the following week Hercules will play at home against HSC’21.
