Tacna: DRTC Cracks Down on Illegal Buses – Tarata Route

The Regional Directorate of Transportation and Communications (DRTC) of Tacna intensified its actions against informal transportation through an unexpected operation on the Tacna-Tarata highway, where four vehicles that were transporting passengers without authorization were intervened and sanctioned.

The operation, carried out at kilometer 75, included the participation of DRTC Supervision and Inspection personnel and members of the Estique Pampa Police Station, who inspected more than 30 vehicle units.

As a result, four fines of 1 UIT (S/ 5,350) were applied to the informal vehicles, which were detained and transferred to the institutional warehouse. In addition, a control report was issued to a unit for not visibly displaying the company name on its bodywork.

The DRTC reaffirmed its commitment to combat informality and protect the safety of passengers, through permanent operations in coordination with the National Police of Peru and other authorities in the transportation sector.
