Anthony García’s Grand Slam Fuels Offensive Surge in Mexican Pacific League
Saltillo, Coahuila – October 22, 2025 – The Mexican Pacific Arco League (LAMP) is witnessing a power surge, and Anthony García is leading the charge. The slugger recently blasted a crucial grand slam for the Guasave Algodoneros, propelling him to the top of the league’s RBI leaderboard with an impressive 12 runs batted in.
García’s clutch hitting wasn’t the only highlight from the recent slate of games. JP martínez of the Tomateros de Culiacán continued his strong showing, connecting for his second home run of the season. Simultaneously occurring, pitcher Samuel Zazueta etched his name in the history books for the Yaquis de Obregón, securing his third save of the campaign and becoming the franchise’s all-time leader in saves with 44.

In a nail-biting contest in Guasave, the Tucson Baseball Team edged out the Algodoneros 6-5. García was the offensive linchpin for Guasave, launching a towering grand slam to left field in the fourth inning that momentarily shifted the momentum. For Tucson, Bobby Bradley contributed a run scored, while Missael Rivera added a run and an RBI despite going hitless.
The Tomateros de Culiacán faced a tough 4-3 defeat against the Jaguares in Nayarit. Martínez was a standout for Culiacán, delivering a stellar 3-for-4 performance that included a two-run blast to right field and a double. Fernando Villegas drew a walk in his outing.
in Hermosillo,the Yaquis de Obregón secured a dramatic 11-10 victory over the Naranjeros. Zazueta closed out the game for Obregón, earning his third save by allowing just one hit and striking out two batters, solidifying his record-breaking performance.
Elsewhere in the LAMP, the Charros de Jalisco defeated the Águilas de Mexicali 10-7. Mario Meza recorded his first hold of the season for Jalisco, retiring a batter in the eighth inning. in Mazatlán, the Cañeros topped the Venados 3-1. Fabricio Macías went hitless for Mazatlán, while reliever Alex Tovalin made an appearance, striking out one batter.
Venezuelan League Notes:
In the Venezuelan Professional Baseball league (LVBP), the Cardenales de Lara bested the Navegantes del Magallanes 6-2 in Valencia. Alex Claudio pitched the ninth inning for Magallanes, allowing one hit and striking out a batter.
The sharks secured a narrow 6-5 win over the leones del Caracas in La Guaira. Jeferson Morales provided a spark for the Lions as a pinch hitter, delivering a double and scoring a run.
