The time for cousinhood has come again. Two weeks after the unexpected success of Valentin Vacherot against his cousin Arthur Rinderknech in the final of the Shanghai Masters 1000, the Monegasque will meet the Frenchman this Wednesday in the second round of the Rolex Paris Masters.
Now 40th in the world while he was 204th in the ATP rankings before his victory in the Chinese megalopolis, Vacherot continued his momentum by winning with authority this Tuesday against the Czech Jiri Lehecka, 14th in the world (6-1, 6-3). This is the Monegasque’s first success in the Ile-de-France tournament, which he discovered during this edition at the age of 26.
Rinderknech (29th) had dismissed the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (48th) the day before at the end of the suspense. The 30-year-old reached the round of 16 of the previous edition of the Rolex Paris Masters, where he lost in three sets against Grigor Dimitrov (2-6, 6-4, 6-7 [5]).
The meeting between Valentin Vacherot and Arthur Rinderknech will take place this Wednesday, October 29 at 11 a.m., at the start of the session. It will be broadcast on Eurosport channels and on the France Télévisions france.tv platform.
