Policoro Judo: 1,200+ Athletes Compete

Rome, 27 October 2025 – It ended in Policoro (Basilicata). sixth edition of the Grand Prix Lucaniaon stage yesterday and today, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October, with the participation of approximately 1,200 athletesbetween U18 and U21, representing clubs from all over Italy.

Organized by the FIJLKAM Basilicata Regional Committee with the support of the New Kodokan and local administrations, in particular the Municipality of Policoro, the tournament offered young judokas the opportunity to compete at a national level and accumulate precious points for the federal rankings.

The first day of competition, Saturday, was dedicated to the categories Under 18where the Kumiaifollowed by Akiyama e Nicolaus.

On Sunday it was the turn of the Under 21who confirmed the first two steps of the podium of the companies: Kumiai in first place, Akiyama in second position, while the Team Iacovazzi he went on the third step.

Numerous federal and sporting authorities took part in the event, including the National President of the Judo Sector Giuseppe Matera, the Federal Councilor Andrea Regis and the National Sports Director Bruno D’Isanto.
