Another numbered UFC gala took place last night in Abu Dhabi, and it produced a number of interesting results. In the main event of the evening, champion Tom Aspinall faced Cyril Gane for the heavyweight title. How did the expected battle turn out?
Unfortunately, unlucky as hell. As a result of an unpleasant gash in the eye, the duel was declared a no contest, i.e. without a result, which is a terrible misfortune that no one wished for.
Of course Jon Jones didn’t miss the fight either, taking a dig at Aspinall by not responding to him at all and instead texting Pereira, “Alex, I’d like to bring the White House to the highest level possible. I appreciate the respect you show me. Let’s dance.” So it seems that the Jones vs Pereira fight is on track, but of course the UFC management will have the final say, but they should not hesitate about such a titan fight.
