Held under the banner of Pink October, a national breast cancer awareness campaign, the tournament saw over 100 players from approximately 35 different clubs converge for an evening of spirited rallies and fundraising.
This wasn’t your typical daytime badminton competition. The Panthers Tournament broke new ground for the club by extending from 6 p.m. to midnight,a schedule that tested the endurance of participants much like a late-night overtime basketball game or a marathon baseball doubleheader. To keep spirits high and energy levels up, a complimentary refreshment bar offered a generous aperitif, fueling the players through the extended hours.
The eventS primary objective was to raise funds for the ARC foundation, a respected organization dedicated to cancer research.The success of the fundraising efforts was substantially boosted by the generous support of local businesses in Cornebarrieu. These contributions provided a wealth of prizes, wich were then raffled off, much to the delight of the lucky winners.
