Chance League Round 13: Jablonec Win North | Summary

Goals: 54. Matěj Koubek, 62. Marian Pišoja – 59. Vojtěch Patrák, 71. Vojtěch Patrák (pen.)

In the 13th round of the Chance League, Zlín drew 2:2 at home with Pardubice. The first half took place under the clear direction of the East Bohemians, who, despite the high number of chances, could not find the recipe for the great Stanislav Dostál.

The goal throws came only in the second half. Although Zlín led twice in it, the East Bohemians were able to equalize each time thanks to Vojtěch Patrák, who reached first place in the scoring table with seven goals. Pardubice, as a team with the worst away record in the competition, can be satisfied with the point. Zlín scored its third league draw in a row.

In the season so far, the shoemakers have pleasantly surprised their fans and after a goalless draw at the Slavia pitch from the last round, they continued to stay in a nice sixth place. Pardubice, who thanks to two home wins in a row, finally got off the bottom of the table stood in the way of another point gain.

And it was the East Bohemians who were able to take the lead after the opening quarter of an hour. A low cross from a corner kick fell somewhat unexpectedly through the first row of Zlín defenders and landed on the boot of Simon Bammens. However, the Belgian did not have time to put the necessary force into the finish, and Dostál thus thwarted his attempt from the small goal.

After Samuel Šimek’s shot from another Pardubicky corner kick, the Zlín goalkeeper was already beaten. However, VAR intervened in the whole situation, which revealed the scorer’s illegal intervention, which preceded the goal, and thus the score did not change in the end. The home team kept the scoreless even after Vojtěch Patrák’s chance, whose attempt was blocked by Jakub Kolář. At the end of the first act, visiting Abdullahi Tanko got into a separate escape, but even this time he did not mature to Dostál.

Ševci’s first major opportunity came only after the change of sides, when Miloš Kopečný leaned into the rebound after a corner kick and his projectile narrowly missed the visiting goal. The opening goal came only in the 54th minute, when substitute Michal Fukala found another joker in the goal, Matěj Koubek, with a wonderful pass. He made no mistake in the face of Jáchy Šerák and opened the scoring of the duel.

However, Zlínský’s lead lasted only five minutes. Jan Řezníček from the right side dragged a centered ball to the back post, which Patrák pounced on and tied the score at 1:1. However, this situation did not last long either, because three minutes later, Marián Pišoja pulled the lead back to the home side. However, Patrák completed the goal storm from the penalty spot in the 71st minute with his second goal of the match. Ladislav Krobot was able to complete the turnaround with an unconventional volley from an angle, but his cross shot only ended up on the crossbar, and the two teams parted amicably.

Ševci will appear in the round of 16 of the domestic cup on Wednesday, when they welcome Slavia Prague to their field. Pardubice will not have their cup duties against Baník until next week, so they will want to prepare for their duel with a home match against Dukla, which is scheduled for next Saturday.
