Sangiorgese Basket Returns to PalaBertelli to Host Vicenza in Serie B Nazionale
Sangiorgese Basket sits at 2 points with a 1-4 record in the Serie B Nazionale standings as the club prepares to host S4 Energia Pallacanestro Vicenza on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, at 18:00 local time. The Sunday fixture marks the sixth round of the 2026/27 championship campaign. The team returns to its home floor following a road trip to San Vendemiano, aiming to capitalize on local support at the newly renovated PalaBertelli arena in San Giorgio su Legnano.
The visiting Vicenza side enters the matchup with an identical 2 points and 1-4 record through the opening five matches of the season. In the upper tier of the standings, A2A Leonessa Brescia sets the pace with 10 points on a 5-0 record, followed closely by Adamant Ferrara, Logiman Orzinuovi, and LuxArm Lumezzane all sitting on 8 points with 4-1 marks. Meanwhile, Sangiorgese shares the lower half of the table alongside Vicenza, Fiorenzuola Bees, and Paffoni Fulgor Basket Omegna.
Inside the PalaBertelli Arena Expansion
The PalaBertelli venue underwent significant renovations in September 2024 to meet the structural capacity parameters required for the Serie B Nazionale division. Seating capacity at the facility doubled from 400 to 800 spectators. The upgrade also included a renovated bar area and exterior expansions featuring dedicated spaces for club administration, a video review room, and a weight training facility.
Locally known as the “Draghi” or the “Popolo Sangio,” the club’s fan base fills the compact arena to create an intense home-court advantage. The organization itself traces its roots back to the founding of the Unione Sportiva Sangiorgese in 1922 in the Milan metropolitan area.
Coaching Staff and Squad Profiles
Head coach Mauro Zambelli leads the home bench, having guided the formation to a victory in the Conference Nord playoffs that secured promotion to the Serie B Nazionale. Zambelli previously spent 11 seasons within the technical staff at Treviglio. Assistant coaches Filippo Arosio and Silvano Picarelli round out the bench leadership.
The projected starting lineup features playmaker Carlo Tosetti, captain Filippo Testa, swingman Pietro Bocconcelli, forward-center Manuel Di Meco, and center Kai Edwards. The roster depth includes forward Francisco Fernandez Lang and swingman Matteo Maruca.
