The two French-speaking teams of Swiss League, Sierra et La Chaux-de-Fondsplay the leading roles in the ranking and the two easily won Friday evening. The Sierrois assumed their leadership role by crushing Bellinzona 9-0. If the Ticinese more or less resisted in the first two thirds, conceding only two goals from Sacha Berthoud (3rd) and Jakob Lee (34th), they completely collapsed in the last third. Marco Maurer (at 4 c 5/41st), Samuel Asselin (44th), Arnaud Riat (48th), Tyler Higgins (48th), Arnaud Montandon (at 5 c 4/55th), Maxime Montandon (58th) and Lee (58th) took part in the party for the team coached by Chris McSorley, providing a great end to the evening for the 2,479 spectators from Graben. On Sunday (4 p.m.), the Valaisans will travel to Thurgau to face their direct pursuer in the standings.
La Chaux-de-Fonds did not go into detail against Coire (6-1) either. But the meeting took time to settle. The two teams actually started the final third when the score was 1-1 on the scoreboard. But this third period thrilled the 2,789 spectators at Mélèzes, their favorite team scoring no less than five goals. Arnaud Jaquet (41st), Loïc In-Albon (46th), Steven Macquat (52nd), Evgenï Chiriaev (59th) and Oliver Achermann (60th) scored for Louis Matte’s team. On Sunday, the HCC will go to Visp (5:45 p.m.).
