The 1st Disciplinary Commission of the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) condemned, on Thursday (4/9), the striker Bruno Henrique, from Flamengo, and four others for handling.
The Court analyzed the complaint of the Attorney’s Office against the Flamengo player, accused of forcing yellow card in play against Santos in 2023 to benefit bettors. Now, the attacker’s defense may appeal to the STJD plenary to try a suspensive effect of the trial.
Bruno Henrique was sentenced to 12 games and will have to pay a fine of $ 60,000.

Manipulation
- On August 1, 2025, the STJD Attorney’s Office denounced striker Bruno Henrique and four other people for manipulating results involving sports bets.
- In addition to Bruno Henrique, the Prosecutor’s Office denounced four more amateur athletes: the player’s brother Wander Nunes Pinto Junior, as well as Claudinei Victor Vitor Bassan, Andryl Sales Nascimento dos Reis and Douglas Ribeiro Pina Barcelos (all friends of Wander).
Understand the case
In the complaint, the STJD Attorney’s Office pointed out that the Flamengo striker reinforced a “agreement” with gamblers on the eve of the match against Santos, on 10/31/2023. According to the agency, the player would have sent a message to his brother reiterating that he would fulfill the promise of receiving a yellow card during the game.
The Flamengo striker was convicted by the STJD based on the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD). See articles in which Bruno Henrique was reported:
Article 243: Deliberately act in a harmful way to the team that defends. Paragraph 1. If the infraction is committed upon payment or promise of any advantage, the penalty shall be suspended from 360 to 720 days, and elimination in the case of recurrence, in addition to a fine, from R $ 100 to R $ 100 thousand.
Article 243-A: Acting contrary to sports ethics, in order to influence the outcome, proof or equivalent. Penalty: Fine of R $ 100 to R $ 100 thousand reais, and suspension of six to 12 matches, evidence or equivalent, if practiced by athlete, even if alternate, coach, doctor or member of the coaching staff, or for a period of 180 to 360 days, if practiced by any other natural person submitted to this Code; In the case of recurrence, the penalty will be eliminated.
