Greek basketball players beat Lithuania in the quarter -finals of the European Championship on Tuesday with 87:76.
“After the first three minutes, which we did not start very well, we controlled the next 37 minutes. We played well at both ends of the field. We played wholeheartedly in front of fans of so many thousands of Lithuanian Lithuania, in a very good atmosphere,” Spanulis said.
One of the Greek team leaders in defense in this match was Costa Adetokunbo, who stood out with four blocked shots.
“He had a great game. His energy and concentration was at a very high level. He helped us a lot, just like all the other players. We know what Kost can give to the team, and today it was very important for our victory,” the coach explained.
In the semi -finals, the Greeks would fight with Turkey, and Spanulis added that his team would develop a game plan and be ready for the match.
Lithuanian national team coach Rim Kurtinaitis, on the other hand, said Greece was stronger.
“Tonight, Greece was stronger than us. We weren’t strong enough tonight, but I want to congratulate the Greeks again,” said Kurtinaitis. “Our biggest problem was that there is no game maker. We need higher -level players in this level.”
