Second place was taken by Chinese Van Josodžao (1:18:43), third – Spanish walker Paul Macgrat (1:18:45).

The Sunset with a score of 27 minutes and 25 seconds took 41st place in 47 athletes.

The score of the solstice this season was 22 minutes and 50 seconds was the 40 best among 48 submitted athletes, but in the world rankings the Latvian took 86th place according to the pre -Start Protocol.

This was the second start of the Sunset in Tokyo. The World Championship debutant ranked 24th in the 35 -kilometer walk.

At 3:05 pm, Anete Sietiņa will start the Javelin Throwing Main Event, broadcast live on LTV7.

It has already been reported that the 24th place in Tokyo was ranked by Latvian jumper Walter Kreis, but Lina Muse-Sirma was ranked 32nd in javelin throwing.

So far, Latvian athletes have won three medals at the World Championships. In 2011, Ineta Radeviča won the silver medal in the long jump, and Dainis Kūla in 1983 in the spear throwing, representing the USSR team, and Laura Ikauniece in the seven in 2015.

Latvia was represented by nine athletes at the 2023 World Cup in Budapest, winning the highest place for Sietina, who finished fourth.

2202 athletes from 198 countries have been announced for the start in Tokyo.

The World Championship in Tokyo will end on September 21.
