Pittoya Basketball Playground Opening: Update & Impact

(Ansamid) – September 12 – Rome – The city of Bestoya witnessed the opening of a new sports square added to its urban fabric, reflecting the historical identity of the city related to basketball, through the inauguration of a new basketball field in the Monte Oliveto Park, which was re -developed by Kilogs as part of its continuous initiative since 2023, so that this project is the ninth stadium in Italy.

This initiative aims to revitalize the public squares, and make it platforms for convergence and social integration through sports.

The opening ceremony witnessed a vibrant atmosphere, with 5 exhibition matches against 5, free throws, and entertainment activities for children and youth. Among the most prominent attendees were the Italian star Marco Pelinelli, the captain of the Vertus Sigavido Bologna and the first Italian to achieve the NBA title, alongside Georgia Sotana, the player of the Vallala Paskit Square team, who cut the opening tape and the attendees participated in their passion for sports.

Pittoya was also one of the summer basketball stations organized by Kilogs in partnership with the Italian Red Cross (CRI), and she targeted children from 8 to 17 years, especially from the most vulnerable groups. About 400 children participated in 14 camp across Italy, in activities that combine sports, proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle, enhance values such as team spirit, perseverance, and respect for diversity.

Sports celebrations continue in the city with the hosting of the “Kilogs Mini Baskete” tour on September 20 and 21 in Monte Oliveto Square, in cooperation with the Italian Basketball Federation, with the tour to conclude in Rome on September 27 and 28 in the Chicina Park. (Ansamid).
