Anderlecht will have to get rid of the D1 VV Ninove club in the next round of the Croky Cup. The meeting was initially to be played on the field of the amateur club, but it was finally decided that it would take place at Lotto Park.
During the next round of the Croky Cup, the clubs of Jupiler Pro League will enter. Among the posters to follow, we find the meeting between Ninove – Anderlecht.
But the latter will not be played in Ninove, unlike what had been planned during the draw. Anderlecht will have to try to get his qualification in his own stadium, not on the ground located about twenty kilometers further.
No security guarantees
The reason? Security. After a risk analysis carried out by local police, the bourgmestre of Ninove, Guy d’Haeseleer, decided to prohibit the holding of the match on the field of the amateur club, reports the Newspaper.
The Ninove, Kloppers stadium can accommodate around 1,350 spectators. A number deemed insufficient by the competent authorities. In addition, it was not possible to guarantee adequate separation between supporters from both camps.
Result: the advantage of the terrain goes from Ninove to Anderlecht. The meetings of the 1/16th finals of the Belgian Cup will compete in the last week of October.
